At the behest of Mr. Zhou Liangcheng, General Manager of Huaguo Company, a group of four from Huaguo Company—Wang Huadong, Development Department Manager; Guo Weibing, Deputy Manager of the Management Department; Chu Tingting, representative from the Materials Department; and Li Xiaohui from the Cultural Office—visited Changkeng Primary School in Pingtian Town, Nanxiong City. They conducted a festive慰问 (visit to express care and concern) for all the teachers and students and distributed scholarships to impoverished students. The group received a warm welcome from Secretary Deng of the Pingtian Town Committee, Director Chen in charge of education, Principal Zeng of the Central Primary School, and Principal Lai of Changkeng Primary School.

Changkeng Primary School is located in a remote mountainous area in northern Guangdong Province. Huaguo Company donated over 500,000 yuan in 2008 to build the school, including the teaching building, basketball court, and new desks and chairs. Furthermore, through Mr. Zhou's strong advocacy within the company, employees voluntarily donate office supplies and scholarship funds annually, and representatives are selected to personally distribute them to the school.

Thanks to the enthusiastic help of all Huaguo employees, Changkeng Primary School has undergone a dramatic transformation: the entire school building has been renovated, teachers and students are confident and hardworking, and their academic performance ranks among the best in the town each year. Moreover, it has led to increased local community重视 (emphasis) on education and encouraged local students to live frugally, study hard, and contribute to their hometown in the future.

That afternoon, they not only awarded scholarships to 37 students at the school but, accompanied by the principal, also visited the homes of five students, took photos with them, and encouraged them to study hard.

This慰问活动 (visit to express care and concern) was a demonstration of love and gratitude from Huaguo employees. Participants were deeply touched by the simplicity, politeness, and resilience of the children in the mountainous region. They work hard but are constrained by their living conditions. They lack the advantages enjoyed by city children, such as superior conditions, excellent teachers, and outstanding facilities. Therefore, for children in the mountains to succeed, they must work much harder—two to three times harder than city children—a fact that the school principal also agrees with.

We hope to do our part to improve what we can, thereby enhancing teachers' skills and improving students' academic performance.
