Tiqiao Primary School's 7th Annual "Huaguo Education Scholarship" Award Ceremony

On June 18, 2015, the grand ceremony for the 7th "Huaguo Education Scholarship" award ceremony of Tiqiao Primary School was held on the campus of Tiqiao Primary School in Leizhou, Zhanjiang. Mr. Zhou Liangcheng, Chairman of Foshan Association of Taiwan Investors, Chairman of Chancheng Taiwan Business Association, General Manager of Foshan Huaguo Optical Instrument Co., Ltd., and Honorary Principal of Tiqiao Primary School; Mr. Liang Jinsheng, Deputy Director of the United Front Work Department of the Chancheng District Committee of Foshan City; Ms. Xu Xi, Section Chief of Taiwan Affairs Section, United Front Work Department of the Chancheng District Committee of Foshan City; Mr. Zhang Jinshun and Ms. Zhong Liwei, Secretary-General of Foshan Association of Taiwan Investors/Chancheng Taiwan Business Association; and more than 20 other Taiwan businessmen and Huaguo representatives; and Tiqiao Primary School specially invited many leaders from the Leigao Town Party Committee, government, and Leigao Town Central Primary School to attend the scholarship award ceremony.
After a seven-hour drive, Mr. Zhou and the guests, including Taiwan businessmen, arrived at Tiqiao Primary School in Leizhou. As soon as they got off the car, they heard the pleasant welcome music of the honor guard, and then saw teachers, students, and villagers standing around the school, welcoming Mr. Zhou with their sincere smiles. The ceremony was hosted by a teacher from a normal college who was teaching there. With brisk and exciting accompaniment, the award ceremony began. First, Mr. Zhou, whom everyone respects, gave a speech. In his speech, Mr. Zhou first greeted all the teachers and students of Tiqiao Primary School, and finally expressed his positive expectations and blessings, wishing the students of Tiqiao Primary School a healthy and happy learning and growth experience on campus. Then, Ms. Xu Xi, Section Chief of Taiwan Affairs Section, United Front Work Department of the Chancheng District Committee of Foshan City, gave a speech, expressing her deep emotion about the school's improvement since its establishment, and giving high praise to Mr. Zhou's support and care for the school. She also expressed her gratitude for the years of dedication from the teachers who were teaching there, and stated that she would encourage more support from Taiwan businessmen in Foshan Chancheng. Following this, leaders from the Leizhou government and central primary school gave speeches, expressing their gratitude for Mr. Zhou's long-term support for Tiqiao Primary School, and expressing their continued support for the school and their commitment to cultivating the students.
A total of 51 awards were presented for the "Huaguo Education Scholarship," rewarding the top two students in each subject from grades one to six in 2014, as well as a Best Leadership Award. Mr. Zhou, Director Liang, and Section Chief Xu presented the awards and encouraged the teachers and students to continue their efforts. The award-winning teachers and students expressed their gratitude and determination to continue striving for excellence.
Finally, the award ceremony concluded with a performance of three short dances by the children from the Gonghao Kindergarten for the guests. The children performed a dance called "I am a Little Soldier" as a curtain call, showcasing the bright, positive, and aspiring future of Tiqiao Primary School. (Provided by the Cultural Office)
